What if I cannot afford to pay the fees?

Pre-Apprenticeship Training Institute offers students several funding options. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify, including student loans, scholarships, and other sources of funding.

Do I need to buy tools when I go to work?

No, all students are provided with industry appropriate tools to be used during the in-class training as well as arrival at work upon completion of the training.

When can I register?

Registration for each intake will be taken on a first come first served basis. Registration usually begins 6 weeks prior to the beginning of class. Some courses fill up quickly, therefore early registration is recommended.

What does the tuition cost cover?

The cost of the tuition covers the following:

  • Industry standard safety gears (head to toe).
  • Lab materials.
  • Industry related tools.
  • Six safety certifications.
  • Six months YASC membership for qualifying candidates.

What is a pre-apprenticeship?

A pre-apprenticeship program prepares students with the knowledge and skills required to begin an apprenticeship.

What is an apprenticeship?

All skilled trade positions start with an apprenticeship. An apprenticeship involves on-the-job training with a qualified tradesman and accompanying study periods. Apprenticeships are paid positions.
