National Tradesmen Day!

Posted on Categories Others

Friday September 21, 2012 marks the second National Tradesman Appreciation Day! Its an opportunity for us to recognize the hard working contractors and skilled trade professionals whose contributions have helped to build our country and province. As an industry training facility, the PAT Institute celebrates the opportunity to recognize these individuals and how they, quite literally, help to build the foundations for a better tomorrow. More too, as partners with Irwin Tools, we want to thank them for including us with their celebrations and continuing to provide these leaders of industry with quality tools to help ensure a quality of work that is unparallel.

Trade professionals are the back bone for our economy and to all the trades men and women who keep our country running the PAT Institute would like to say THANK YOU! Our thanks is very much deserved because trades people make our lives work – they replace our initial feeling of panic and disbelief with confidence that your home and largest personal investment, will retain its value and PAT wants to celebrate these individuals who help us get back into a repaired home and on with our lives. They’re work keeps us warm, keeps the lights on, gives us a place to call home and generally keep the world running!

With that, we also want to recognize City TV and Breakfast Television for coming into the PAT Institute training facility and helping to promote this worthwhile cause. Host, Jenn Valentyne was amazing and did a fantastic job trying out some of the trade programs offered at PAT while also helping to demonstrate what working in the trades is all about. Taking part in programs that would lead into electrical apprenticeships, plumbing apprenticeships and telecommunications, her participation reflected the skill-sets required from these professionals working in the skilled trades.

Skilled trade professionals and crafts people should be proud of their incredible skills and talents and they deserve to be recognized for their hard work which is often preformed in difficult environments under stressful conditions. As such, we want to invite everyone to be a part of National Tradesmen Day to show our appreciation to the men and women who contribute to our lives in so many ways. People across North America are encouraged to show appreciation to trades people and that’s definitely something new and worth celebrating.

Help celebrate National Tradesmen Day:

  • Visit your auto mechanic with a coffee and bagel and thank them for their efforts on your behalf
  • Drop off a hand written letter to your local electrician or plumber
  • Surprise a maintenance crew in your office or building with a small “thank you” celebration
  • If your friend, husband, wife, daughter, son etc. is a trades worker make September 21 a special day for them
